After negotiations, both sides reached an agreement whereby the Staunton radio dispatch center will provide dispatch services for a one-year period with a monthly fee of $750. On Sunday morning, Aug. 7, Father Tom Hagstrom blessed the statue of St. Michael the Archangel that graces the lawn in front of St. Michael's Church. Barbara Anne Cox, 88, of Benld, Ill., died at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo., on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022. She was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Granite City to Joseph and Lucille Gobble Olds. She married Glen R. "Buzzy" Cox on Nov. 27, 1954, in Bunker Hill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2021. Richard Joseph Gausepohl, 79, of Staunton, Ill., passed away Saturday, July 30, at Heritage Health in Staunton surrounded by his family. Beth L. (Heyen) Rull, 44, of Bunker Hill, Ill., died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Sunday, July 31, 2022. She was born Oct. 14, 1977, in Litchfield to Mike and Debbie Heyen. John Rogers Peterson, 92, of Bunker Hill, Ill., died Aug. 1, 2022. He was born Aug. 10, 1929, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield to Freeland E. Peterson and Bessie Belle (Daniels) Peterson. He married the former Virginia Ferrari, and they later divorced. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 serving in post World War II. Ned Ray Newingham, 77, of Gillespie, Ill., was born on Feb. 11, 1945, to Clarence and Rosa (Henson) Newingham in White Hall. Ned met Sylvia Clark and they were married on June 27, 1986. She survives.
