    Lewis and Clark Community College held its second annual Summer Fest enrollment event on Thursday, July 14, on the college's Godfrey campus. Prospective students and their families toured the campus, learned about the college's programs and met with advisors.     The Tori Carroll Memorial 5K/1-Mile Fun Run will be run on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Staunton High School beginning at 8 a.m. You must pre-register to be included in the event and the deadline to enter is Friday, July 29. The annual 5K/1-Mile Fun Run is held by the Carroll family to raise money for the Staunton Education Foundation.     The Macoupin County Veterans Assistance Commission will be in Benld on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Assistant Superintendent Bobby Scott will be at the Cahokia Township office.     There was a great turnout for the extremely hot Thursday morning. Good golfing by Bev Kramer and Kathryn Young who had a gross score of 41. Denise Hemphill and Rosemarie Pickerill had a net score of 20. Bev and Kathryn had a birdie on #9 and Denise and Rosemarie had low putts of 11. Everyone stayed and had a nice lunch.
