Last week, the Staunton Public Library had planned to host a wonderful Summer Reading Program Finale featuring the MAC Art Bus on Thursday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the band shelter on Pearl Street. At the last minute, the library and the Mac cancelled the event due to poor air quality and extreme heat.. However, the Library Happenings copy had already gone to the Staunton Star-Times declaring how wonderful the event was. I knew if the MAC bus came, it would be a great experience for all never dreaming there would be smoke filled...
Summer Repertory Theatre in Carlinville will be presenting the musical production of The Addams Family at Blackburn College, Bothwell Auditorium. Performances are July 20, 21,22, 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m.; July 23 and 30 at 2 p.m. The July 20 performance is pay by donation at the door. Tickets for all other performances may be purchased at CNB Bank & Trust in Carlinville, Carlinville Public Library or at the door.
