Zion Lutheran School hosted the 41st annual C-Team Shootout last month. The boys teams playing in the tournament included Zion Lutheran of Belleville, Good Shepherd of Collinsville, Trinity Lutheran of Edwardsville, Trinity-St. John of Nashville/Okawville, Immanuel Lutheran and Staunton Zion. The Lady Bulldogs hosted the Maryville Christian Lions at the Staunton City Soccer Complex at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13, to kick off their 2023 season. The Staunton track team competed at the Jersey Indoor Winter Thaw meet held Saturday, March 11, at Principia College Grafton Center. Twenty-five teams competed in the men's division and 22 teams in the girls' division. Mascoutah won first place in both divisions. The Staunton men won 8.5 team points. On Tuesday, March 21, the Highland Bulldogs girls soccer team will journey to the Staunton Soccer Complex and face the Staunton Bulldogs. This match will be the first annual fixture kicking off the Battle of the Bulldogs competition. The 58th annual Hiltop Coin Club coin show will be held Sunday, March 19, at the Gillespie Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
