VFW District 12 (17 VFW Posts) conducted their Awards Banquet Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at Collinsville VFW. During Monday night’s city council meeting, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier announced in the City Clerk’s Report that the city has two licensed trash haulers for January 1 through December 31, 2024. Elmer Leroy Looper, 87, of Bunker Hill, died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield on Jan. 14, 2024. He was born Oct. 13, 1936 in Jerseyville to Elmer O. Looper and Lucille Waters Brown and they preceded him in death. He married Mary Ann (Hogle) Looper of Bunker Hill on June 2, 1960 in Cottage Hills, Ill. and she survives.
